    How we use AI

    Last updated: August 2026

I study how AI interprets restaurants. It would be strange to do that work and stay vague about where AI shows up in my own product. So here it is, plainly.

    What the machine does

A Guest Read is machine work. A model reads publicly available signals — your website, listings, menu language, reviews, social profiles — and writes an interpretation of what those signals appear to say about your restaurant. Nobody hand-writes your free read. That is what makes it free and immediate.

    What the human does

Paid deliverables — Signal Correction Plans, Signal Interpretation Briefs, and Signal Integrity Audit™ work — are reviewed by me before they reach you. The frameworks, the priority order, and the judgment about what actually matters for your business are mine. Where a document says AI-assisted, human-reviewed, a person read it and takes editorial responsibility for it. Where it doesn’t say that, assume it is machine output.

    What we will never do

    • Present machine output as independent human expert analysis.
    • Write a testimonial, review, or quote and attribute it to a real person.
    • Invent a dish, award, review, or fact about your restaurant to make a point.
    • State certainty about what a model “thinks.” Interpretation is probabilistic, and the language stays probabilistic.

    Images and graphics

Some illustrations and social graphics are generated or edited with AI tools. Where a platform asks us to disclose synthetic imagery, we disclose it. We do not publish photorealistic images of real people, staff, or dining rooms that were generated by a model.

    Your data

Readings are built from public signals only. What we collect is covered in the Privacy Policy, and the limits of what a reading promises are in the Terms of Service.

    Where the signals come from

Every reading is desk research on publicly available digital signals: your website, your menu as published, your business listings, your public review text, your public social profiles, and your structured data. That is the whole source list.

    • We do not pose as a guest, place test orders, or contact staff under a false identity.
    • We do not visit or inspect a restaurant in person as part of a reading, and we never imply that we did.
    • We do not buy, scrape, or use private, paywalled, or credential-protected data.
    • We do not use guest personal data, reservation records, or POS data.

    Naming, anonymity, and takedowns

If a business did not ask to be read, it is published anonymously — no name, no address, no handles, no identifying URL. A business is named only when it has agreed to be named, and only where the finding is favorable.

If you are named, described, or think you recognize your restaurant in something we published, write to us and we will de-name, amend, or remove it within 48 hours of receiving the request. You do not need to explain why, and you do not need a lawyer to ask.
