    What The Machine Reads

A series about how machines interpret restaurants.

    Guest Reads™

Your restaurant already has a second identity.
    The one guests experience.
    And the one AI interprets.

See how AI interprets your restaurant through the questions real guests actually ask.

    Who the Guest Read™ protects

The guest’s question is the test. The restaurant owner is who the Guest Read™ protects.

A Guest Read™ shows operators what AI currently believes about their restaurant before that interpretation influences who gets recommended, booked, or ordered from.

It does not judge the restaurant’s food, service, or quality. It tests whether the restaurant the operator created is the restaurant the machine can understand.

AI doesn’t experience your restaurant. It interprets it through the signals it can find. Guest Reads show you what the machine believes before a guest ever walks through the door.

Think of it as a mystery shopper for AI. The Guest Read™ asks the kinds of questions a prospective guest might ask and shows how discovery systems interpret your restaurant—what they understand, what they miss, and where uncertainty could cause you to be skipped.

You’ve seen what the machine reads. Now see yours.

Find out what AI currently understands, misses, or confuses about your restaurant.

    Discovery Reads

    Before the guest chooses you.

These are the reads that decide whether you enter the consideration set at all. Interpretation happens here first.

    What this exposes

Whether the machine can name what you actually are — or reduces you to a category you never chose.

    Interpretation Gap

Most identity gaps are not marketing problems. They are vocabulary problems. The machine reaches for the nearest label it has been trained on.

We use the restaurant name and city to read publicly available information online. Your results are not published. No login required.

Readings may be saved and used, in anonymized form, as part of our ongoing research into how AI interprets businesses.

    Transaction Reads

After the guest has already chosen you.

Routing problems are downstream of interpretation problems. First the machine has to understand who you are. Then it can send the guest to the right door.

    Signal Soup

When your website, Google listing, reservation page, delivery profile, and reviews tell five different stories about the same restaurant.

The Guest Read shows you which story the machine may assemble.

    A note on prompts

The prompts behind each read are evidence-gathering, not the product. The product is the interpretation, the gap, and the signal correction that follows.
